Draymond Green Speaks On Jimmy Butler

After the big win, Draymond Green spoke about Butler.

Green (via The NBA): “One of the better teammates I’ve had no question. He’s the ultimate team-guy. You look at those Miami teams and why they were able to win… He was uplifting so many guys… It’s been fun having him as a teammate. The chemistry is great. Everybody can stop worrying about me and Jimmy.”

As for Green, he finished the win with eight points, seven rebounds, nine assists, one steal and two blocks while shooting 3/6 from the field and 1/3 from the three-point range in 28 minutes of playing time.

Via ESPN’s Anthony Slater: “Jimmy Butler: 16-of-16 on free throws in the Warriors’ season opening road win over the Lakers. Living at the line, controlling pace when GSW needs it, lifting them to a different level, same as last regular season. He was +20. GSW home opener vs Nuggets on ESPN this Thursday.”

Butler had been with Miami for part of six years before getting traded to Golden State during the middle of the 2024-25 season.

He helped them turn around their season (and reach the second round of the NBA playoffs).

In addition to Golden State and Miami, the six-time All-Star has also played for the Philadelphia 76ers and Chicago Bulls over 15 seasons.

Via StatMuse: “Jimmy Butler vs Lakers: 31 PTS 5 REB 16-16 FT (!!) His most points ever in a season opener.”
