It’s the final weekend before the NBA regular season begins, which means you’re coming here for your fantasy basketball drafts.
Should you draft Jalen Green this season? Here’s the latest outlook, projections, and rankings for the Phoenix Suns Shooting Guard.
Should You Draft Jalen Green in Fantasy Basketball?
Jalen Green gets a major fantasy boost after being traded to the Suns as part of the Kevin Durant deal. Slotted in as the clear No. 2 scoring option behind Devin Booker, Green could have the green light to take on the highest shot volume of his career. This expanded role makes him far more appealing in points leagues, where raw scoring volume is king.
Green’s time in Houston was marked by inconsistency. Even so, he’s been durable, missing just six regular-season contests over the last three years, and has gradually improved his efficiency in all three scoring phases. Phoenix’s starting lineup is thin on scoring talent, meaning Green will have no competition for touches outside of Booker. How well the two isolation-heavy guards mesh will determine whether Green’s production stabilizes or remains streaky.
Fantasy managers in category formats should temper expectations given Green’s career shooting percentage of just 41.8 percent and minimal contributions in defensive stats. But for points leagues, his combination of guaranteed high usage and explosive scoring upside is very appealing.
