Every year the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame induction ceremony serves as a powerful reminder of the game’s rich history and legendary figures and in 2024 fans watched Vince Carter, Chauncey Billups and Dick Barnett take their rightful place among basketball immortals creating a night filled with nostalgia and celebration.
Now as the basketball world turns its attention to the 2025 class, the excitement only grows. This year’s lineup is as diverse as it is iconic, featuring NBA champions, WNBA trailblazers, referees, coaches, contributors, and even an entire Olympic team.

NBA Legends
Carmelo Anthony
Carmelo Anthony has had a remarkable career and if we see the 10-time NBA All-Star and three-time Olympic gold medalist averaged 22.5 points per game over 19 NBA seasons. Moreover his smooth shooting stroke and clutch performances made him a fan favorite.
“Yo, Pops, it’s Kiy. You’ve been a Hall of Famer to me my whole life. All of that hard work, every day, you grinding, nobody seeing you work as hard as you do, everybody take you for granted, it doesn’t go unnoticed. Dwight Howard
Next in line from the NBA side is Dwight Howard and if we see he dominated the paint during his prime years and has earned eight All-Star selections and three consecutive Defensive Player of the Year awards from 2009-2011.
Moreover Howard even led the Orlando Magic to the NBA Finals in 2009 and later captured an NBA championship with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020.
“I cried, man, I cried so much. Just from thinking about that moment when I told my dad that I wanted to be in the NBA, to being the first pick, and then obviously ending my career with the Lakers and winning a championship. That meant everything to me,” Howard revealed his reaction when he got the good news of HOF induction.

WNBA Legends
Sue Bird
A four-time WNBA champion and 13-time All-Star, Bird is widely regarded as one of the greatest point guards in basketball history. She also claimed five Olympic gold medals with Team USA.
Maya Moore
A four-time WNBA champion and former league MVP Moore’s influence extended beyond the court with her social justice work. She is remembered as one of the game’s most versatile forwards.
Sylvia Fowles
The two-time WNBA champion and former league MVP was named Defensive Player of the Year four times and she also led the Minnesota Lynx to multiple Finals appearances.

Danny Crawford (Referee)
He has officiated over 2,000 NBA games, including multiple Finals appearances. Respected for his professionalism, Crawford was one of the league’s most trusted referees for decades.

Billy Donovan (Coach)
He has shown his excellence at both the college and professional levels throughout his coaching career. He led the University of Florida to back-to-back NCAA championships in 2006 and 2007, then transitioned successfully to the NBA with the Oklahoma City Thunder and Chicago Bulls.

Micky Arison (Contributor)
As the longtime owner of the Miami Heat, Arison oversaw the franchise’s three NBA championships and played a key role in shaping modern team ownership.

2008 U.S. Olympic Men’s Basketball Team
This team was nicknamed the “Redeem Team“. The squad which was led by Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and Dwyane Wade, restored American dominance in international basketball by winning gold in Beijing.

How and Where to Watch the 2025 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony
Basketball fans across the globe will be able to tune in to the 2025 Basketball Hall of Fame celebrations through NBA TV which is broadcasting the entire weekend of events. The festivities kick off on Friday, September 5 with a special reception beginning at 4 p.m. ET followed by a gala awards celebration later in the evening.
On Saturday, September 6 the spotlight turns to Springfield for the official induction ceremony. Coverage will begin with the glamorous red carpet show at 6 p.m. ET which will lead into the main event at 7 p.m. ET where this year’s legends will be formally enshrined.
