When it comes to dazzling performances on the basketball court, Luka Dončić never disappoints. The Slovenian superstar, fresh off a strong NBA season with the Los Angeles Lakers, is once again turning heads at EuroBasket 2025.
Last season in the NBA, Dončić averaged 28.2 points per game and helped to lead the Lakers to a (50-32) record and a playoff berth. After dedicating his offseason to conditioning by shedding 31 pounds Dončić has entered the international stage looking leaner.
On August 30 at the Spodek Arena in Poland all eyes were on him as Slovenia faced France in a highly anticipated matchup.

How was Luka Dončić’s Performance on August 30 Against France?
On Day 4 of EuroBasket 2025, Dončić reminded fans why he is one of the elite players. He scored 39 points, grabbed eight rebounds, and gave nine assists.

His relentless scoring and playmaking kept Slovenia in the fight for most of the game. Moreover, Dončić’s leadership extended beyond the box score when during a third-quarter timeout, he was spotted explaining X’s and O’s to his teammates.

Edo Murić also played a key role as he added 16 points and eight rebounds but despite their combined efforts, Slovenia fell short. France’s offensive explosion in the second half proved too much, as they secured a 103-95 victory. This was Slovenia’s second consecutive loss of the tournament.
Despite a passionate and fighting performance by #mojtim in their second #EuroBasket game, victory went to France. Heads up, Slovenia!
Aleksej Nikolić added 5 pts & 2 ast in 30 mins, Rok Radović 3 pts in 14.

Slovenia appeared to have the upper hand from the beginning. Moreover, they controlled the tempo in the first quarter and even maintained their advantage as they entered halftime with a seven-point lead.
However, the momentum completely shifted after the break. France erupted for 56 points in the second half and overwhelmed Slovenia with their depth and pace.
This isn’t the first time Dončić has put on a show in EuroBasket 2025. In Slovenia’s opening game against Poland he scored 34 points, four rebounds and nine assists. That performance also etched his name into EuroBasket history books. He became the first player ever to record 30+ points, 5+ assists and 5+ steals in a single game. Moreover his 17 made free throws were the most by any player in a EuroBasket game since 2005.

Unfortunately much like the France game his brilliance couldn’t translate into a win. Slovenia lost to Poland (105-95).
With two losses under their belt Slovenia will now look ahead to their next challenge against Belgium on August 31.
