The myth around his fitness has reached an extent where reports even suggested James invests over $1.5 million per year to maintain his top physical condition!

James had to come out to address the number in Netflix’s documentary series Starting Five: “I’ve heard this crazy notion about how much money I spend on my body per year. And I kind of just chuckle. That is a number that I will not disclose,” he said with a smile.

Jokes aside, entering his 23rd season in the league, James has to take better care of his body than ever. The work seems to be continuing in the offseason, as a clip of James doing Pilates with his wife, Savannah James, is now going viral on the internet.

Why Did LeBron James’ Pilates Session Go Viral?

James’ training and recovery involve a wide array of techniques, one of which is Pilates. With the offseason in full swing, the Lakers forward seems to be spending time with his family before another demanding NBA season begins.

In the clip, James and Savannah are seen putting the work in together while their trainer provides them instructions. Their Pilates trainer, who also recorded the clip, is Stefania Uche Okolie, one of the top Pilates teachers in Los Angeles.

When fans of the 40-year-old star saw the clip, they were amazed by his dedication to durability, with many asking if he ever gets tired. Others, however, also poked fun at James for doing Pilates, not knowing its role in his undisputed longevity.

How Does Pilates Contribute to LeBron James’ Longevity?

James has long credited Pilates for helping him maintain core stability and prevent injuries. By focusing on core engagement and controlled movements, James uses Pilates to strengthen muscles that support his spine and joints, reducing the risk of strain during intense gameplay. This stability enhances his balance, making him more resilient and agile on the court.

Also a practitioner of Yoga, James performs the two to supplement his weight lifting and preserve his body.

James is not the only star athlete who has incorporated Pilates into his training. Football legend Cristiano Ronaldo, James Harden, and NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown all perform Pilates to improve stability and range of motion.

While James appears ready for what could be his final NBA season, where exactly that season is played remains unclear. The 21-time All-Star made his desire to compete for another championship clear at the start of the offseason. Although his camp claims the forward does not want to leave Los Angeles, the inability to field a roster James believes in could see the Lakers lose the star.
