Now, his new extension is reportedly nearly 14 times that amount.
ESPN’s Shams Charania posted the new agreement, reporting, “Breaking: Oklahoma City Thunder All-NBA star and champion Jalen Williams has agreed to a five-year maximum rookie contract extension that could reach $287 million, agents Bill Duffy and Justin Haynes of WME Basketball told ESPN.”

The guaranteed portion of the deal is $239 million and will begin in the 2026–27 season. The contract also includes performance-based incentives tied to All-NBA selections, MVP honors, and Defensive Player of the Year awards. If Williams meets those benchmarks, he will earn the full $287 million by the end of the deal in 2031.

With this extension, Williams joins Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren as part of OKC’s long-term core. The franchise has now committed over $822 million to this trio, with SGA on a four-year, $285 million deal and Holmgren signed to a five-year, $250 million extension.
