Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry has been married to his wife, Ayesha, since July 2021. The couple has known each other since they were teenagers and is blessed with four children, two girls (born in 2012 and 2015) and boys (born in 2018 and 2024). Curry’s oldest son, Canon, turned seven yesterday, and the two-time NBA MVP couldn’t be happier.
Stephen Curry Shares Touching Tribute for Son Canon’s Big Day
On Thursday, Curry shared a three-snap post on his Instagram, highlighting Canon’s birthday. “My guy CWJC is 7! Laughs, jokes, country & Patwa accents and 1000 “look what I can do”‘s a day. We love you Young Wolf,” he captioned the post.
All three pictures were taken beside a road near a lake. Canon, wearing a black shirt and shorts, stood above a small rock. The first snap showed him in a hilarious pose, while he struck a similar pose, crouching in the third. Canon showed off his attitude in the second snap.

Curry’s wife also shared an Instagram post highlighting their oldest son’s birthday. She shared a single snap showing Canon in Ghostbuster attire, possibly from Halloween or his birthday celebration.
“Our Canon Jack turned SEVEN today! 7?! I truly don’t know where the time goes. He is the most, passionate, empathetic and head strong human being I’ve ever met. I can’t believe God blessed me with the privilege of being his mama. 🥰🥹,” Curry’s wife captioned the post.

Shortly after Canon’s birth, Ayesha spoke to PEOPLE, sharing many details about her oldest son. Curry and his wife had planned to name their firstborn child Cannon. Since they had two daughters, Riley Elizabeth and Ryan Carson, before having a boy, they had to wait some years to name their child after agreeing upon the name during their honeymoon.
Curry’s wife pointed out that Canon means “Young Wolf” in French. She mentioned that Curry considers his family like a wolf pack and thus very much liked the name.
Canon is a character in the Curry family. His father has shared that his oldest son is the most social of his four children. Funnily enough, Canon didn’t know his father’s profession due to COVID-19.
During her “The Ellen Show” appearance in 2021, Curry’s wife shared that Canon thought that his father was a professional golfer. Due to the pandemic restrictions, basketball was not played much, and Canon thought that his father and uncles were golfers. Curry’s younger brother, Seth, and their brother-in-law, Damion Lee, also play in the NBA.
Like his father, Canon seems adept at ball handling. In a 2022 Instagram post, Curry’s wife shared a video of her oldest son dribbling two balls simultaneously. Basketball genes run in the Curry family. After all, Curry’s father, Dell, played 16 seasons in the NBA. Whether Canon becomes the third generation of the Curry family to play in the big leagues remains to be seen.
