49ers vs. Packers FanDuel DFS Picks: Top lineup includes Elijah Mitchell, Deebo Samuel, and Aaron Jones

If you’re competing in a DFS tournament or 50/50 competition for the Saturday playoff single-game slate between the San Francisco 49ers and Green Bay Packers, then you’ve come to the right place. We’ve run through dozens of potential game scripts to arrive at the most likely scenarios and how these scenarios would impact fantasy football performances. Here are our top two recommended 49ers vs. Packers DFS picks, based on FanDuel pricing.

Top NFL DFS FanDuel picks for 49ers vs. Packers | Lineup No. 1

This lineup assumes San Francisco largely contains Green Bay’s impressive running game, forcing the Packers to win through the air. It also assumes the 49ers remain competitive for most of the game, ensuring high backfield usage.

Aaron Rodgers, QB, Green Bay Packers ($16,500)

The Packers are three games away from another Super Bowl title. For a time this past offseason, this would have seemed like a pipe dream. But the franchise’s disgruntled quarterback shook off an atrocious Week 1 in New Orleans to produce one of the best statistical campaigns of his illustrious career.

If we believe the Packers’ running game will stall Saturday night, Aaron Rodgers will be there to pick up the pieces and lead his team to yet another victory. And if you have a DFS MVP slot, Rodgers belongs there.

Davante Adams, WR, Green Bay Packers ($14,500)

Since 2016, Davante Adams has finished the season as — in chronological order — the WR10, WR9, WR1, WR6, WR1, and WR2 in fantasy points per game. In the 2019 postseason, he led all fantasy wideouts with 29.4 ppg — 10 points higher than the nearest WR. Last postseason, Adams averaged the most fantasy points per game among all wideouts who played in more than one contest.

Simply put, Adams has been invaluable on the field and in fantasy for years. If the Packers’ passing game gets going, Adams will be a key reason why.

Elijah Mitchell, RB, San Francisco 49ers ($13,000)

Jimmy Garoppolo has 30 or fewer pass attempts in 11 of 16 games. The 49ers are 2-3 when he’s attempted more than 30 passes. Although Elijah Mitchell isn’t normally a passing-game threat, 5 of his 19 receptions came in a Week 9 loss to Arizona in which San Francisco was down 24 points in the third quarter.

We don’t have much else to go on since the Niners usually have kept their losses fairly close. So if we assume Mitchell will step into a dual-threat role if needed, he could be the team’s highest-scoring fantasy asset, even if they lose.

George Kittle, TE, San Francisco 49ers ($10,000)

As his stock continues to plummet (for good reasons), George Kittle remains a steaming kettle waiting to explode. His talent is obvious. If this team finds itself in an early hole, they can’t possibly continue to avoid one of the league’s top tight ends — a guy who compiled 22 catches, 332 yards, and 3 scores combined in Weeks 13 and 14. A lot of DFS bettors will fade Kittle, but let’s see what he can do with the season on the line.

Randall Cobb, WR, Green Bay Packers ($6,000)

At this price — and with his experience — there’s almost nothing to lose. Randall Cobb has enjoyed a 47-596-5 receiving line and an impressive 70.1% catch rate in 11 playoff appearances. Yet, this will be his first postseason outing since losing the 2017 NFC Championship to the Falcons. Cobb enjoyed a 6-82-0 performance that day. Still only 31 years old, he has enough gas left to net 40+ yards and a possible score.

Top NFL DFS FanDuel picks for 49ers vs. Packers | Lineup No. 2

Our second lineup assumes Green Bay garners much of its production on the ground, leaving Rodgers as more of a game manager. It also assumes San Francisco’s most dynamic offensive weapon comes through. Aaron Jones replaces Rodgers in the DFS MVP slot, while Deebo Samuel and AJ Dillon replace Adams and Kittle.

Deebo Samuel, WR, San Francisco 49ers ($16,000)

Samuel is practically game-script proof. He can score on the ground and through the air from all over the field — from near the goal line to 70+ yards out. The only yellow flag is his sizable DFS price. But if we believe he’ll be a top-four WR this weekend, then he needs to be in this slate.

Aaron Jones, RB, Green Bay Packers ($12,500)

Here we’re assuming frigid temperatures and a capable Niners pass defense force Green Bay to win through their backfield. Jones offers dynamic playmaking ability, whether rushing or catching passes. He’s slowed in recent weeks, in large part because of the ever-present Dillon, who’s capped Jones’ usage. But 16-18 touches are realistic, and that should net him 12+ points.

AJ Dillon, RB, Green Bay Packers ($12,000)

There’s a chance Dillon comes up big. After all, he did it in Week 17 while splitting touches with Jones (who also fared pretty well). He and Jones also played well together in Week 5, and to a lesser extent, sporadically throughout the season.

While Dillon is not a high-probability play, he’s a great hedge in 50/50 contests. If he comes up big, you’ll be among the small minority who capitalize on this seemingly overpriced “backup” RB.
