Cam Ward and Travis Hunter Trash Talk During Pre-Draft Workout

In a recent viral video, Ward and Hunter exchanged jabs while reviewing each other’s highlight reels during a pre-draft workout session.

The clip showcases these two rising stars’ competitiveness as they prepare for the upcoming NFL Combine and NFL Draft.

Ward and Hunter took a break from their workout to watch and comment on each other’s college football highlights. Ward, the former Miami Hurricanes quarterback, praised his highlight reel, saying, “I got so many [highlight clips] to choose from, I don’t know which one. Here, let me just put on the four-minute one. My four minutes is better than your seven minutes.”

When it was Hunter’s turn to showcase his highlights from his time at Colorado, Ward couldn’t resist taking a few lighthearted shots.

Ward dismissed Hunter’s highlights from his time at Jackson State, an FCS program, saying, “Jackson State? Are you talking about Jackson State? Anybody can play in the FCS! I’ll play in FCS,” a comedic retort considering Ward also started his career in the FCS with Incarnate Word.

Ward added, “Hey, don’t put this game on here. These highlights don’t count!”

While the video doesn’t show Hunter’s responses, the get-together had a positive tone that indicated mutual respect and friendly rivalry. The interaction between Ward and Hunter provides an interesting runway to the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft.

Fan reactions to the video seem to be negative toward Ward. Most commenters take issue with Ward’s wisecracks, believing his confidence isn’t justified.

Ward is projected as a first-round pick and is considered a candidate to go first or second overall to the Tennessee Titans or Cleveland Browns. Hunter’s versatility as both a cornerback and wide receiver could sway Cleveland to take him over a quarterback, even with Deshaun Watson’s struggles and injury history.
