What to expect from the 2022 QB/WR/TE drills?

All eyes will turn to the QBs early. Many teams are anxious to see the side-by-side comparisons at the top of 2022’s QB class at the NFL Combine. At the moment, there is no clear frontrunner among the QB class. However, a few candidates look to improve upon their stock. In comparison to classes of years past, this group leaves a bit to be desired.

Still, guys like North Carolina QB Sam Howell, Mississippi QB Matt Corral, Pittsburgh QB Kenny Pickett, and Cincinnati QB Desmond Ridder are eager to show 2022 is as strong a class as any. Meanwhile, Liberty’s Malik Willis, Nevada’s Carson Strong, and Western Kentucky’s Bailey Zappe hope to build on their flourishing draft hype.

Every QB needs weapons to complete their passes.

Additionally, NFL scouts will be treated to a day showcasing another year with a deep WR class. The NFL has seen a surge of top-tier WR talent enter the league over the past four to five years, and that trend does not seem to be ending.

Two of Pro Football Network’s Lead Draft Analyst Tony Pauline’s top 10 2022 NFL Draft Prospects headline the WR class in the 2022 NFL Combine in Ohio State WR’s Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson. Alabama’s Jameson Williams and Penn State’s Jahan Dotson join the pair of Ohio State wideouts as the only four WRs with a first-round grade at the moment, according to Pauline.

Finally, fans will get to see Pauline’s highest-rated 2022 NFL Draft prospect of the day when the TEs grace the field. Texas A&M TE Jalen Wydermyer ranks as the eighth overall prospect with a grade of 4.12, the highest among offensive playmakers.

Among his peers, he has a very comfortable lead. The next TEs don’t come in until Ohio State’s Jeremy Ruckert at 52 and Coastal Carolina’s Isaiah Likely at 58. Can Ruckert and Likely close the gap with favorable testing today at the 2022 NFL Combine?

PFN will have boots on the ground in Indianapolis to give you the latest updates from the Combine. Be sure to tune into PFN’s Twitch channel at 2 PM ET on weekdays as well. Pro Football Network Daily’s host Cody Roark brings you the latest news and updates from around the NFL.
