Trades, trades and more trades

There were 40 trades during the 2019 NFL Draft, which was a record amount for the league. One of the biggest trades were arguably the Denver Broncos trading down and selecting Noah Fant and eventually in the second round, Drew Lock. The other was the Miami Dolphins trading for ex-Arizona Cardinals QB Josh Rosen after trading down from pick number 48. For the Broncos, they get the projected best tight-end since they had Julius Thomas. With the Dolphins, they got a 2020 second round pick and a possible future starting QB in Josh Rosen. Both trades have upside but will need both front offices and coaches to make them work.

Dave Gettleman and the pick of Daniel Jones sixth overall

Dave Gettleman has been the laughing stock of the NFL media for the past couple of weeks. From trading Odell Beckham Jr. after saying “We didn’t sign Odell to trade him” to now the draft pick of Daniel Jones out of Duke University. Two other teams supposedly coveted Jones – the Washington Redskins and the Denver Broncos. Gettleman has said in recent interviews that he did not believe that Jones would have fallen to pick 17. He also mentioned how hard it was for him to pass on Josh Allen, who went a pick later to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Gettleman got his guy yet is being criticized. Only time will tell who was right.

Questions to think about during the show

How many trades could the 2020 NFL Draft bring us? Who will be right, NFL Media or Dave Gettleman?
